After all of the shit I've taken from my friends and the shit
I've had to put up with from Yankee haters for about a decade, I'm so, so happy with the way this season is shaping up. I just hope my boys don't let me down in the postseason. I'm on pins and needles.
The Angels scare me. The Rangers scare me. The Red Sox scare me. The Tigers are hit and miss, but they can be dangerous at times.
I'm not trying to gloat or rub it in or anything, but this season has just been a joy so far and I had to get that off of my chest. :)

3. My bad, Jacobair.
I missed your first thread. The Meadowlands. Good call on the exits. Used to hack up there. Hope someone got the seats.

5. Thanks Condem! It was for "only" a silly parking pass ..
albeit a $20 pass at the park and ride, so that's why I didn't want it to go to waste.
I did end up giving it to another person who can't stand Republicans!
So that made me happy on top of the Giants sloppy win against Washington.

4. Well, after all the shit I took from skankee fans for 40 years
I like this decade! the skankees are looking good, but so are america's team right now and the angels will be trouble in the post-season.

6. You guys sure broke my heart coming back to win the WS,
But you have a long way to go before you can give me any crap about the Yankees!

I think it would be a very fun match up if we play each other again in the postseason, but you guys looked like crap when you played us at the Stadium last time.

My money is on the Bombers.

7. The Sox were doing horrible in that stretch overall
It's coming together at the right time for Boston at the moment. We'll see if the Sox can sustain the momentum. We've got one more series in the Bronx before the real showdown begins.

22. Yeah, they've started to put it together...interesting series this
week with the Los Angeles Devils of Cucamonga coming to town...not the best pitching rotation for this series, though.

9. The Cardinals could in the WS
the Cards have a VERY good team this year. Having Carpenter and Wainwright going 1-2 with Pujols and Holliday providing the power will make them a very tough team in the playoffs.

15. oh no, I'm very much with the Marlins
I've been with them through all their losing seasons and missed playoff runs since 1994 and I'll be with them till I die or they fold up. But if the Marlins can't win it all, then I'll root for whoever the National League team is.

10. lol- "taking shit from my friends"
I'm a Nats fan...I'd happily take losing in the PLAYOFFS every year...This is what annoys me most about the Yankees. Their snobby if we don't win the WS its a failure attitude...

19. I can understand why you would feel that way. I really do,
But considering the insane amount of money this (NYY) franchise spends every year, not to mention how much they charge me to go to the games, I think it's only natural our expectation levels are different than those of most fans and their teams.
And not to sound disrespectful, but fans of teams that never win it all, or seldom win it all are always happy settling for losing in the playoffs. I'm not, because I'm used to (or shall I say, I was used) the Yankees winning it all just about every year in the late 90's or so. This may sound snobby but I'm being honest.

14. The Yankees
are the greatest team in sport's history. Deep down, everyone loves them. It's just that some people have issues that get in the way.

I've never taken any shit about being a Yankees fan. Partly, I'm sure, because no one takes my opinions on any sport other than boxing seriously. And partly because I really do like every sports team, and almost every athlete. I do not understand the dislike, really, of any athlete other than Oscar de la Hoya. And even in his case, I respect him, and like what he does for the sport, now that he's retired. (The fact that he reminds me of a kid who decisioned me decades ago in the amateurs plays no role in this. I'm surprised anyone would mention it.)

21. Wrong
I think teams like the Montreal Canadians, the Brazil men's soccer team, and UCLA basketball might have something to say about being "sport's greatest team."

And Montreal is practically France, so... ;)

30. I appreciate
your sense of humor. Too bad you do not have a sense of history. The simple fact is that even you are convinced the Yankees are the greatest sports team ever -- or you would not have offered such a silly couple of teams to compare them with.

Please wear a MickRivers t-shirt for three of the next four days.

17. I'm not really a Yankees fan...
but I do hope that they do well heading into the post-season.

And then I hope that in the World Series, the Joe Torre Dodgers win it in 5 (after sweeping the Phillies in the NLCS).
