I became fond of him when my older daughter was looking for a college. We visited IU, and it became my favorite!

She ended up elsewhere, but when I learned of Brand's NCAA job, I wrote to him about my disappointment that he wouldn't be there, as I thought highly of his philosophy/poet attributes, and having done so much for IU. He wrote back, thanking me, and wishing daughter luck.

I understand their upset about Knight. Can't stand him! (LOVE John Thompson at Gtwn!)
