Soccer(Football) Rules Question |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-27-09 11:29 AM by Cush
I played when I was younger and also worked as an assistant ref (known as a linesman back then), but I guess I've forgotten a few things:
I'm watching the Sunderland - Wolverhampton game on the Fox Soccer Channel and Wolverhampton was awarded a free kick from inside the box but it wasn't from the penalty spot. What warrants a non-penalty spot inside the box free kick , and a goalie can not use his hands if the ball is passed to him?

but I've been doing other stuff so I didn't see the exact play, but I do know that a goaltender can only use his hands if the ball is HEADED back to him by a teammate...he cannot touch the ball with his hands after it has been kicked to him by a teammate.

2. Beats me! I've started following 'football' to get away from ALL the rules 'gridiron' football has! |
