1. I've always thought drafting WRs in the first round -- or at least
that high -- was a bad idea. So I'm happy he's not signed. Otherwise a ton of cap money would be dedicated to that putz.

Much rather spend the money on ass-kicking tackles and ends instead.

2. No doubt there is a risk in drafting WRs in the first round
however a true "number one" receiver can certainly help an offense. It's funny how we all talk about the winners and losers after draft day(s) and then stupid draft negotiations can completely negate the value of a player.

3. I hate it that the 49ers wasted a draft choice...
But it never made sense to draft Crabtree given the teams announcement to build the offense around the run. The bigger need was at tackle where, incidentally, they're having issues right now.

4. I don't understand what Crabtree's doing.
And maybe I'm just parroting the talking points of management, and I apologize if that's the case, but but does he think he'll go in the top ten, or even the first round, in next year's draft? Or is it all just posturing and are they absolutely going to get a deal done?

It's been a long time since we had football here in L.A. and I'm not that up on modern contract negotiations.

5. Players forget the average NFL career is like 5 years
so this hold out hurts him way more than it hurts the niners
