Poll question: NFL Rookie of the Month (September) |
|
I tried to come up with the best list I could come up with and some research went into it. I didn't want it to be strictly offense so I got a few defensive players in there. I'm sorry if I left out someone that deserves to be on there.
Some players that I considered that you can vote for in the other option. Louis Murphy-WR-(Raiders) 8 Rec, 138 yds, 1 TD Rey Maualuga-LB-(Bengals) 17 tkls(8 solo), 2 FF, 1 Sack Brian Cushing-LB-(Texans)26 tkls(14 solo) Kenny Britt-WR-(Titans)10 Rec, 166 yds

Even if he isn't the most deserving. I picked him solely because the Jets are my favorite team.
Extreme bias.

3. I thought about it and reviewed the stats and Sanchez gets my vote too |
|
I was close to Percy Harvin, he is also used as a running back on some plays so you gotta like the versatile as well as the 101 yd kickoff return for 6. Also 2 touchdown catches as well. Sanchez is up at the 60 mark, 2/1 TD ratio so far and the rush TD so I believe Sanchez is the ROM IMO.

8. I loathe the Jets and went with Sanchez... |
|
...can't argue with results...he obviously should have been picked before Stafford.

4. Sanchez is the only correct choice |
|
A 3-0 rookie quarterback? If he doesn't flame out, he'll be one of the greatest to ever play.

5. With Stafford at QB the Lions ended a 19 game losing streak |
|
so, despite all the media hype surrounding Sanchez after 3 lousy games, I voted for the former Georgia star.

6. This has nothing to do with hype |
|
It's who has played the best for the month of September. Sanchez has played 3 good games and the most glaring fact. On third down he has 245 yds, 1 TD, and a 63.6 completion percentage for a 96.1 QB rating. Sanchez has the highest QB rating on third down in the NFL.
Whether he goes down in flames is irrelevant. It's who played the best for the entire month of September.

I wish him luck at New Orleans this weekend
On edit: Looking at the schedule, the Jets get Miami twice, Buffalo and Oakland after New Orleans. They could be 6-2 or 7-1 at the bye.
