If I were Mad, I'd be scared, very scared.
Just like with the links to what is being said in Denver, we've gone through the Broncos' press release and uncovered some interesting statistical stuff. Here goes:

** The Broncos have trailed for only 4:46 of the first 180 minutes of the season. I know they've played Cincinnati, Cleveland and Oakland - and that will be a familiar refrain with some of these numbers - but that's still impressive.

** Left tackle Ryan Clady has not allowed a full sack in his career (19 games). According to Stats Inc., that's currently the longest streak in the NFL. The Broncos have allowed only three sacks this season and allowed a league-low 12 last year. By the way, Clady held Oakland's Richard Seymour and Cincinnati's Antwan Odom, the current league sack leader, without sacks so far this year.

** The Broncos have allowed only 16 points in three games, which is the third fewest in the Super Bowl era through three games. Green Bay (2001) and Seattle (2004) allowed 13 points through three games those years. Now, the rankings of the offenses they have played so far are No. 24 (Cincy), No. 32 (Browns) and No. 31 (Raiders).

** Kyle Orton is 6-1 in his last seven starts and 24-12 as a starter. He's only thrown one October interception in his career, and he has gone 126 passes without a pick. Only Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers (158) has a longer streak without a pick.

** Remember Correll Buckhalter when he was in Philly? He has three 20-yard plus runs already. He's never had more than five in a season.

1. Dallas Cowboys down to one healthy running back
IRVING — Skip Peete’s biggest headache before the season began was keeping his three running backs happy. Now, the Cowboys’ running backs coach is more worried about keeping them healthy.

Starter Marion Barber missed Monday night’s game with an injured left quadriceps, and now, it appears his backup, Felix Jones, will miss at least this week’s game at Denver. Jones sprained his posterior cruciate ligament in the first half of Monday night’s 21-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers....

Item #1: They've played Cincinnati, Cleveland and Oakland this year.

Item #2: They've played Cincinnati, Cleveland and Oakland this year. We will see how they do against DeMarcus Ware.

3. Look what Tony Dorsett said about Tony Romo this week >>
"I don't know why on God's earth Tony Romo has been anointed a superstar in the National Football League. Tony is very young in his career. Not to say you can't be young in your career and be a superstar because you've got one up there in Minnesota in Adrian Peterson.

"But the thing is this: You have a guy who hasn't done much, and quarterbacks in the NFL, most of them go through this growing curve. He hasn't gone through that growing curve, but he was anointed this great player all of a sudden. Now he's having to live up to that. And obviously Tony has some deficiencies.

"He's a good player who's still learning how to play in the NFL, and I think the media has given him too much credit for doing nothing. He hasn't done anything really in the NFL to deserve all the recognition and visibility he's gotten so far."

4. I agree with much of what Tony Dorsett says.
People thinks he is a seasoned veteran, but this is only his third full season as a starter. Yes, he has a 29-13 starting record, which is impressive, but he has not been through the learning curve most QB's go through.

He is a good player who is still learning to play in the NFL, though I would say that he has done more than "nothing"

6. Dallas is third in overall offense in the NFL
I'm among the last to defend Dallas or Romo. But you don't get to be number #3 without some competency at QB.

8. I don't know why people down play Cincinnati
Edited on Wed Sep-30-09 07:19 PM by JonLP24
They beat Green Bay at Green Bay and beat Pittsburgh. So Denver beat a team that beat Green Bay and Pittsburgh but they haven't beat a real team. With Palmer healthy and a deep group of Wide Receivers with Benson running the ball they are a team to be reckon with and plus they are lucky tip from 3-0. Dallas hasn't beat a team with a single win so I don't get it, what makes Dallas a real team? Hahaha Cincinnati. They beat Green Bay @ Lambeau and beat Pittsburgh. Hahahaha. :eyes:

9. The Bengals Have Had One Winning Season Since 1990
That might explain it.

10. I'm familiar with their history
Edited on Wed Sep-30-09 08:36 PM by JonLP24
The Bengals currently have the longest active streak without a playoff win which was 1991 when they beat the Houston Oilers in a wild card game. But that has nothing to do with today. Before last season the Cardinals only had one winning season since 1984. All that is interesting but has no effect on this season. The Bengals added Andre Caldwell who is playing well therefore making themselves deep at wide receiver and Benson is running the ball very well plus Palmer is healthy and if they stay healthy they will be very good.

Now to Dallas, they beat two 0-3 teams but yet they are a real team that Denver is facing but Denver beat a 2-1 team that has wins against what most people think are very good football teams.

11. B-Dawk has brought real attitude to that defense.
Dumbest offseason move by any team? The Eagles letting perennial all-pro and certain Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins walk.

12. I agree
It makes me laugh when people downplay Denver's defense when they have Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins in the secondary. DJ Williams is also an excellent linebacker.

However as far as offseason moves I'm regretting the Cardinals letting Roderick Hood go and going with Bryant McFadden. I've been seeing him get burned too many times and to match him up against Reggie Wayne... what were they thinking?
