4. My battery was about to die

and my PC gave me the three minute warning so I had to get them in as quickly as I could before it died. I got it in time and switched batteries(I have two, plug in cords don't work anymore so I have a dock to charge a battery while I use one. I didn't look at spreads and now I'm thinking that Nevada and Forth Worth may have a spread to high for comfort but I'm sticking with them. :)

12. I've always had a weird feeling about picking bowl games

especially the smaller venues. When I was younger and running wild all night on the streets of Memphis TN, I would on occasion run into players in town for the Liberty Bowl. Without getting into details ( *ahem* I'm a family man now), lets just say that some these boys were breaking training. Then you'd see them out on the field flat and you'd be like: " no doubt, they are either hungover, strung out, or got a dose of the clap"

Point being: you never know what team you are gonna see out there, amny times they are completely different from their regular season. Especially for the "meaningless" smaller bowls.

Maybe things are different now, but I see the events they have for the teams that come to Orlando: parades, banquets, media events, trips to the attractions, brunches, lunches, party, party, party. Seems like they hardly got time to practice or focus on the game

Iowa was that way back in '03. Got our ass kicked by USC . Then Ferentz went to visit Alvarez about Bowl Prep the next summer. The results say it all. Barry is still a god, here. We tailgated with his daughter a coupla' years back.

I'm not much into hero worship, but what that man did for UW football, and the entire UW athletic program, is nothing short of top notch. He is very well respected, and loved by the players and students at UW. Great role model and mentor.

And you got a really good point: you have to look at the coaches attitude on work ethic. Which with what, 64 teams, is hard to figure.

Bobby Bowden's last game for example: does he mail it in and expect the kids to win it just for him, or do the kids mail it in waiting to see who their new coach is?

No one on our team wanted to go to the Vegas Bowl. I talked to a couple of the guys before they got on the plane and none of them were pumped for it. My girlfriend's sister caters for the team, and all of the coaches (except Mike Riley) were seeming down on life too. Sure we played like shit, but it is understandable. Hell, it happened to the Ducks in 05.

The Pac 10 is a better conference. We went 5-0 last year in bowl season. We beat the MWC teams the last few years we've played them in the regular season (except for Utah last year, which was the biggest farce of a pass interference call I'd ever seen).

How it works. There are 34 bowl games. You pick the winner in each one and then you rank them by how confident in you're in and it all adds up and the person with the most points win.

For example I had 34<the max> on Southern Miss beating Mid. Tenn. St. so since I lost the points are gone.

I had 31 points on USC beating Boston College so since I got that right 31 points went to my total.

The lowest I have is 1 point on Idaho beating Bowling Green so that is a low risk so it doesn't hurt as much if I get that wrong.

It all adds up in the end and the person with most points wins. :D
