Tiger Woods to take 'indefinite' leave from golf
Source: AP

Tiger Woods said Friday he is taking an indefinite leave from golf to work on saving his marriage, using the word "infidelity" for the first time in a statement posted on his Web site.

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf," Woods said. "I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person."
Woods and his wife, Elin, have been married five years and have a 2-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son.

The announcement came two weeks after a car accident set in motion a shocking downfall for the world's No. 1 player, and included sordid allegations of numerous extramarital affairs.

One woman even shared a voice mail she said Woods left her two nights before his Nov. 27 accident.

1. It was that, or getting the "OJ" treatment for the remainder of his years.......
Considering that he didn't commit murder,
Golf just lost a great player,
but at least a wife may have gained a husband back,
perhaps.

"Genius."

He gets to look noble by making a priority of reorganizing his personal life and character (and hopefully avoid a divorce settlement)...while the PGA's revenues circle the drain, just like the NBA's did when Michael Jordan (finally) retired. You see, Tiger is a super DUPER star, the kind who bring in non-sports fans (and their money). And like the NBA, the PGA has been cashing in on their one-man franchise for so long they've become just plain addicted.

By this time next year, they and Nike will be BEGGING him to make a comeback.

4. Yep. "Crisis Managers" hard at work.....
I'm sure they are costing Tiger a good amount of money.....

Tiger fell into their trap 'real good'.

"perception" is EVERYTHING. So they say......

8. I just have to wonder why guys like Tiger even get married -- or, when
they are looking for a wife for the whole family and kids thing, can't they find a woman who would be fine with an "open" marriage in exchange for the lavish lifestyle? Open marriages have been around forever -- why marry someone who will definitely want you to be faithful all the time?

The only reason I can think of for the men to not want an open marriage is that SHE gets to fool around, too.

7. I think he should go golfing with the Dalai Lama

-- And do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga...gunga -- gunga galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

14. He's been married less than 60 months, he cheated in at least 42 of them
Edited on Sat Dec-12-09 12:20 AM by rocktivity
He's not going to heal his personal life in three months--unless the PGA is so starved for TV revenues by then they BEG him to come back!

17. he doesn't have to heal his personal life...the general public has a short memory
its the smart move, because right now it's "just" adultery with insignificant celeb groupies and adult film actresses -- lay low and hope (HOPE AND PRAY) no other women step forward with stories that make the situation worse, i.e., "Tiger promised to leave his wife for me," "Tiger is the father of my kids," or "Tiger paid for my abortion."...And also hope like hell there are no sex videos floating around...

11. What's that sound? The PGA TV ratings crashing to the ground
An old philosophy question. If the PGA holds a tournament in a forest, and Eldrick Woods doesn't show up, did it really happen?

13. In other words, Tiger completely pwns the big money media....
No more Tiger pron for them to wack off to. Can't WAIT to see the teevee ratings for the upcoming majors. Just like that, Tiger took MILLIONS away from them.

15. That's what happen when Rat stinking media makes a mountain out of a molehill......
with dizzying media attention that was nothing short of OJ worthy.

As a married woman, I really didn't give a shit who woods did it with!
Hell, I don't even play or follow golf.
And yet, here they paraded him, his wife, his mother-in-law, his girlfriends all over,
to where I couldn't even get away from it if I tried. Meanwhile, the rest of the MSM
blood suckers are acting all shocked and shit; like they voted for the guy and
he pledged some kind of virtuous oath in order to be allowed to play golf.

So looks like Tiger decided he didn't need to be the only one paying,
and I don't blame him at this point.

19. I call bullshit on this one
If Tiger was concerned about saving his marriage, he wouldn't have been screwing every cocktail waitress in the country. He's dropping out of golf because he doesn't want all the scrutiny he'd be getting on the tour. He doesn't want to deal with all the stress and embarrassment.
