6. Yeah, mine too..
I guess leading the nation in rushing and TDs just wasn't enough...though I get the distinct impression that if Gerhart played for a high profile program, like an Alabama, he would have won easily.

10. It's a God (capitalized) Damn Disgrace!
Ingram had the benefit of typical SEC Cocksuckerishnessed padding of stats by:

Playing:

Florida International, North Texas, Tennessee Chatanooga (FCS), and a 13th game (SEC championship)

Gerhart deserved it. Fucking A.

David Jones voted for Quizz:

11. it is very silly to claim that Ingram's stats were "padded"
He could have rushed for 300 yards against the teams you're talking about, if 'Bama had been interested in "padding his statistics." He only carried the ball eight times against North Texas, and 11 times against Chattanooga. And ten times against Florida International. He averaged over ten yards a carry against South Carolina on 24 runs. And against the defending champs, Florida, he gained an average of over four yards, over 28 runs. (If you can pick up four yards a play, you're pretty much guaranteed to win the game.) I'd say that 1,542 is a pretty good total for a season (and that's not counting receptions). He could have easily eclipsed the 2,000 yard mark, if Saban had been really wanting to push Ingram for Heisman by padding his stats. But Saban wasn't particularly focused on that goal. He wanted to use Ingram's skills to help them win games, and to give other players a chance to step up and gain experience when Ingram wasn't particularly needed. Have you watched Alabama and Ingram play this year? Did you see Ingram literally drag players, who had their arms locked around his legs, down the field for ten or twenty yards? Did you see it? On the other hand, do you want to talk about padding stats? Gerhart carried the ball 17 times against Wake Forest, a team that lost to Baylor, Navy, and Boston College, and that were annihilated by Clemson! Gerhart carried the ball against Wake Forest seventeen times! But they still lost! That was the fewest number of carries that Gerhart had in a game all season... seventeen! Are you sure you want to talk about "padding statistics?" Ingram had five games where he carried the ball seventeen or fewer times. As for Ingram having an extra game, I can't explain why the Pac-10 hasn't joined the modern age and instituted a conference championship game.

Roll Tide!

And congratulations to Mark Ingram for a fantastic season, and a well-deserved trophy.

16. I can explain why the Pac 10 doesn't have conference championship game
Each team plays everyone so it wouldn't make sense to have a rematch. If they had 12 teams then it would make sense but then it would have to be balanced because you usually have 4 Big 12 South teams that are better then any Big 12 North teams. This year they did have a game that can be considered a Conference Championship and that would be Oregon vs Oregon State where the winner of that game won the Conference.

I don't dispute anything else except Navy has 9 wins and Wake Forest lost to ranked opponents Miami and Georgia Tech by a total of 4 points.

23. The Pac 10?
Every team in the Pac 10 plays 3 non-conference games and 9 conference games and so does everyone and the equals to everyone playing everyone in the Pac 10.

I can prove it
Arizona State
Idaho St - Non-Conference
UL Monroe - Non-Conference
Georgia - Non-Conference
Oregon State - Conference 1
Washington State - Conference 2
Washington - Conference 3
Stanford - Conference 4
California - Conference 5
USC - Conference 6
Oregon - Conference 7
UCLA - Conference 8
Arizona - Conference 9
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/teams/schedule?teamId=9

Take a look at the Conference records. Oregon won with an 8-1 Conference record.
http://espn.go.com/ncf/conferences/standings?confId=9&year=2009

I know why it may be confusing because the Pac 10 is the only conference where every team plays 9 conference games.

17. Only 2 out of 7 this decade
And only Matt Leinart won the so-called National Championship.

2008: Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford
Lost 24-14 to Florida in the BCS National Championship Game. Bradford was 26-of-41 for 257 yards and two touchdowns in the game, but two interceptions proved impossible to overcome.

2007: Florida QB Tim Tebow
Lost 41-35 to Michigan in the Capital One Bowl. Tebow was 17-of-33 for a season-low 154 yards and three touchdowns; he also ran for 57 yards and a score. His 211 total yards were a season low.

2006: Ohio State QB Troy Smith
Lost 41-14 to Florida in the BCS National Championship Game. Smith was 4-of-14 for 35 yards with one interception. He also ran 10 times for minus-29 yards.

2005: USC RB Reggie Bush
Lost 41-38 to Texas in the Rose Bowl. Bush had 279 all-purpose yards. He ran for 82 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, caught six passes for 95 yards and had 102 yards on five kickoff returns.

2004: USC QB Matt Leinart
Won 55-19 over Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. Leinart was 18-of-35 for 332 yards and five touchdowns.

2003: Oklahoma QB Jason White
Lost 21-14 to LSU in the Sugar Bowl. White was 13-of-37 for 102 yards and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

2002: USC QB Carson Palmer
Won 38-17 over Iowa in the Orange Bowl. Palmer was 21-of-31 for 303 yards and one touchdown.

2001: Nebraska QB Eric Crouch
Lost 37-14 to Miami in the Rose Bowl. Crouch ran for 114 yards on 22 carries and completed 5 of 15 passes for 62 yards and an interception that was returned for a touchdown.

2000: Florida State QB Chris Weinke
Lost 13-2 to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. Weinke was 25-of-51 for 274 yards and two interceptions.
