Mike Holmgren has agreed to become the president of the Cleveland Browns, the team announced Monday.
"We are pleased to announce that Mike Holmgren has agreed to join the Cleveland Browns," owner Randy Lerner said in a statement. "We will spend the rest of the week finalizing the details of the agreement."
Lerner said the team would make the announcement formal with his signing next week.
