Gore looks for 49er rushing record
Along with a victory, Frank Gore would love to gain 58 yards rushing Sunday against the Detroit Lions at Candlestick Park. That would give him 1,000 yards for a fourth straight season.

No other running back in franchise history has rushed for 1,000 in four seasons, let alone four consecutive.

Think what Gore could do behind a decent OL..

1. It's amazing given the runners the niners have had that the team record is 3
I would have thought Roger Craig had more consecutive years over 1000. Gore should get it, though. 2 really weak teams to finish the season. Too bad they could not have swept the Seahawks and beaten the Titans or Vikings.

5. Because of the offense they used to run,
Craig had fewer rushing yards, but more receiving yards, since he'd get a lot of catches out of the backfield. In 1985, Craig had 1050 yards rushing and another 1016 yards receiving.

7. Well, Gore got the 1K...
Pretty sloppy game, though. No matter how down I get on the 49ers, it is clear they have progressed from the 2-14 team of a few years back. Their D seems to be especially improving.

2. Pretty meaningless, Upton. The only streak that matters is the 49'ers have not made the
playoffs in ANY of those four seasons.

3. Well, it sure isn't Frank's fault
I guess in your opinion we should just stop acknowledging the achievements of any player unfortunate enough not to play for a winner. Do you know how stupid that sounds..

Oh, and the Cowboys still haven't won a playoff game since '96...

4. I need to remember that line, when you decide to castigate someone for
pointing out an individual record by a player on a losing team.

Thanks, Upton, I'll remember that! BTW, what is the record this year of the San Francisco Raiders!

:D
