Lakers forward Ron Artest will probably miss tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings after tripping over a box and falling down a set of stairs at home Friday night, according to a statement released by the Lakers.
Artest was treated at the UCLA Medical Center emergency room and was released after undergoing a series of tests, including a CT scan. He received stitches on the back of his head and his elbow.
Artest did not accompany the team to Sacramento this morning and will be examined today by a Los Angeles neurologist, after which the team will announce his estimated return time.
In the best-case scenario, Artest will take a flight out of LAX and join the team in time for tonight’s game against the Kings. In the worst case, he has a concussion and could miss a few games.
