10. I've got no horse in this race, but... |
|
that 44-6 beatdown was anything but a meaningless game. If the Cowpies had won, they would have been in the playoffs.

12. "Marginal significance"? |
|
That's the first time I've heard someone use that phrase for an elimination game.

you're a hater, so you don't follow the team...but the december swoon was well underway, TO was being an ass, and it was clear that Romo's hand injury was lingering and that the OL was shit...the better team won 44-6, if you want to hold on to that, go for it.

14. Why do you keep trying to distract from the subject? |
|
You said it was "a meaningless Philly win." I pointed out it was an elimination game for the Cowpies. You've made many excuses now, but none of those change the fact that it was a very meaningful game for Dallas, and they blew it. Every team has injuries, most teams have a prima donna or two.
(BTW, I hate the Iggles about as much as I hate the Cowpies, but right now I'd rather see the Iggles lose so good luck to your 'boys.)

they didn't turn it into a Lombardi, did they?
5-0 are still the only numbers that count in this rivalry

20. They got to the NFC Championship game |
|
Hardly an insignificant accomplishment. Face it, the Cowboys are the biggest underachievers EVERY YEAR. So you have to fall back on past victoies. But I'll enjoy watching you guys choke in the playoffs again.

22. It's no shame to have lost to the Cardinals, IMO |
|
Look how close they came to winning the SB. I have a hell of a lot more respect for the Cardinals than I do for the Cowboys. They seem like they are much much better coached and run right now.

27. You may be the first person on this forum to respect them |
|
You saying that you respect them more than the Cowboys may not be a lot considering I think you don't have a lot of respect for the Cowboys to begin with but I'll take it. :)
As far as the playoffs go I feel they can beat anybody but can lose to anybody considering how tough everyone looks, even the Cowboys. They shut out an NFL team where the Cardinals couldn't shut out anyone if their lives depended on it. Dallas has top 1O defense and Romo is passing over 8 YPA which is impressive.
I agree they are well coached and Whisenhut/Grimm<share play calling duties> are excellent at calling plays. AZ is #1 in red zone TD percentage and it gets harder to score there because the defense and the area is compressed. Plus he is more willing to go for it on 4th and short more often then other coaches which I like.
Defense has greatly improved from last year. I don't like how their run defense has regressed. Weeks 1-7 they had the #1 run defense, week 8-present in that period compared to other teams they were the worst so they need to get back to that. I'm sastified with pass defense. 6.6 YPA, 2O TD, 17 INT for opponent's offense.
No question they are a better run team. Last year they were pathetic at running the ball but now they are a well balanced team. Special thanks to Beanie Wells, he was absolutely a steal.

19. Trying to get into the playoffs and losing so BADLY? |
|
Seriously..that and the Carolina beat down of the Giants is the most humiliating games I can think of. Bad bad bad coaching. Why Wade Phillips is still a HC is beyond me. Oh well, when you lose in the first round again (and probably by a large margin) you can content yourself with being better than the Skins....

|
Edited on Mon Dec-28-09 04:23 PM by mix
as they have been in the NFC for almost a decade, so what? They haven't been good enough to win the Super Bowl either, so 44-6 doesn't change the fact of 5-0, but it's basic hater math that 44-6 ≥ 5-0, go figure...the last game they played in Philly Dallas won 20-16, btw...
44-6 was probably more significant for the good it did the Cowboys in terms of cutting players, bringing in new blood, and changing expectations. It also began WP's death watch, which could be a good or bad thing, depending on where this team goes, which should be to the NFC championship at least, and whether or not you place any importance in his solid record, playoffs excluded, over the last 3 years, which is 32-16.

I rooted for your team last night but it didn't work out.
The Cardinals are a long shot away from a first round bye that requires them to beat Green Bay and for Minnesota to lose out and Dallas to win out. If Minnesota wins then it's meaningless and in that case I will root for the Eagles. :)

I'm a Cowboys fan this week so they better not let me down as well as my own team.
I also need the Giants to beat the Vikings. :woohoo: If the Vikings win I'm rooting for the Eagles. :P

but the Cowboys are playing well now. Throw that in with a combination of playing at home, plus the revenge factor of last year...and it should be enough to put Dallas over the top, at least you would think so..
