Watching the Rose Bowl...I think ESPN and the NCAA are getting what they wanted

Neither actually would ever have wanted Ohio State to lose.

It could still switch at the end. But it'd be tough.

1. Nah,
they wanted Texas and Florida to play for the title. Why not just have them play one game and give the fucking trophy to the winner? ESPN sucks, badly. Too much. Too much Tebow. Too much A-Rod. Too much Tiger Woods. Too much Yankees and Red Sox. Too fucking much hype. It'd be nice if they wouldn't mix up their promotion of properties they own broadcast rights to with their "journalism."

2. You're right on all that too, of course.

But I think it was arranged that Ohio State would win. With the refs in any case.

They're the time the right wingers are rooting for as well.

4. BTW, the team of the status quo won 26-17.
Maybe I'm hypersensitive, but it seemed like there ALWAYS seemed to be a call against the Ducks just when Ohio State needed it.

7. Just seemed like a consistent pattern.

No ONE jumps out.

I think the rule is that Ohio State NEVER loses the Rose Bowl, unless it loses it to USC.

And I know this has nothing to do with the team itself, but am I the only one who finds it wicked creepy that the Ohio State marching band outfits look like the uniforms work by the crazed military school cadets in "TAPS"?

9. The reality is that Ohio State has lost to Stanford & UCLA in the Rose Bowl
And they haven't played in it since 1997

10. I must say as an Arizona State fan
Ohio State won the Rose Bowl in 1997(which I believe is the last one they played in) fair and square.

I believe it was the same case tonight.

13. I watched it all.
What specific calls did you consider questionable? They reviewed them all. I don't get it.

16. Which game did you watch?
OSU stoned Oregon in the 4th quarter.

Oregon 8 plays for 25 yards and 3 minutes of offense.

15. Why would the NCAA care who wins?
ESPN may have a vested interest in one team winning (though I'm not sure exactly why that would be, but who knows how many Big 10 vs. Pac 10 games they have next year), but I can't think of a single reason the NCAA would have a dog in this fight.
