Boise State was another disguised superior team, winning as it should. I've mentioned that angle for years on numerous message boards, including here. You take any bowl underdog if it was higher rated than its opponent in The Sporting News preseason magazine. I have no idea how TCU is considered 7.5 points better than Boise State. The money line felt like theft, giving me 3/1 on essentially a coin flip, if not advantage Boise State.
Preseason is reality. Then the little teams disperse into conferences for a few months and perception is laughably skewed by meaningless results.
The angle can't find a loser these days. It's 5-0 against the spread this year with 3 outright winners and two covers. Last year was similar, and the year before, year before...
One more to go, Texas plus the points over Alabama.
