Shouldn't it be the Arlington Cowboys, the Landover Redskins, the Auburn Hills Pistons?

And don't get me started about the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Have you ever looked at a map?

It's over 100 miles from Wake Forest NC to where the Deacons play their "home" games.

1. I guess yes
I believe in those cases they were named for a neighboring main city.

About 15+ years ago the Cardinals were once known as the 'Phoenix' Cardinals even though they never played a game IN Phoenix but neighboring Tempe. So I can't remember why but they changed to the 'Arizona Cardinals'.

I had no idea about Wake Forest. I never knew there was an actual city 'Wake Forest' from what I know their campus and athletic facilities are in Winston-Salem. I never put much thought into the name 'Wake Forest', I imagined it was like 'Rice' in Houston.

3. Wake Forest is named for what used to be a forest in Wake County
Don't know where the name Wake comes from originally.

9. Niners the easiest schedule in the league..
Phins the hardest.

Only a douche like you would be proud of an 8-8 record.

PS: Now wipe Cboy off your chin.

At least the Nets are honest. They play in New Jersey and call themselves the New Jersey Nets.
