Canseco: McGwire and La Russa are lying...
"I've got no problems with a few of the things he's saying, but again, it's ironic and strange that Mark McGwire denies that I injected him with steroids. He's calling me a liar again," Canseco said Tuesday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "I've defended Mark, I've said a lot of good things about him, but I can't believe he just called me a liar.

"There is something very strange going on here, and I'm wondering what it is. I even polygraphed that subject matter, that I injected him, and passed it completely. So I want to challenge him on national TV to a polygraph examination. I want to see him call me a liar under a polygraph examination."

St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, who managed McGwire and Canseco in Oakland, hired McGwire as Cardinals hitting coach during the offseason. In an interview with ESPN's "Baseball Tonight," La Russa said he didn't know McGwire had used steroids until the slugger admitted as much in a phone call to the manager earlier Monday.

"That's a blatant lie," Canseco said. "Tony La Russa was quoted as saying that I was using steroids back then, and I was talking about it in the clubhouse, openly. That's a blatant lie.

"There are some things here that are so ridiculous, and so disrespectful for the public and the media to believe. I just can't believe it. I'm in total shock. These guys remind me of politicians that go up and just lie to the public and expect to get elected."

I know I'm getting tired of watching McGwire and his sniveling act...

1. Well, I'm tired of Canseco and his big mouth
Mark McGwire this week admitted to using steroids, and he said it was wrong and that he is sorry.

Jose Canseco several years ago admitted to using steroids, said they're great and recommended their use to everybody.

Jack Rabbit says that based on his reseach, steroids are dangerous to use, cause personality disorders and serious physical ailments. Based on this, it is Mr. Rabbit's view that Mr. Canseco should just shut up and go away.

I also welcome Mr. McGwire back to the human community.

8. I'm tired of this whole subject
And I totally agree regarding Canseco. He's just milking it for every ounce of publicity he can. Shut up and go away is right.

9. Why should he go away when he is the only one telling the truth?

11. Telling the truth?
Telling America's youth that steroids are good for them is telling the truth?

That, sir, is as outrageous as anything Rush Limbaugh or Pat Robertson has said this week.

13. Jesus, I was talking about him telling the truth about who was using
Remember when he said he shot roids into McGwire's ass? He told the truth in his book about who was using. I haven't heard anything about him saying steroids was good for people. That's not even what I was talking about. Don't twist my words.

14. OK, here it is
One correct: He doesn't recommend steroids to everybody. Just "certain individuals".

"I don’t recommend steroids for everyone, and I don’t recommend growth hormones for everyone," says Canseco. "But for certain individuals, I truly believe, because I’ve experimented with it for so many years, that it can make an average athlete a super athlete. It can make a super athlete --incredible. Just legendary."

15. So what's untrue about that statement?
Steroids can make players better...true. Everything else he said was just opinion. There's nothing there that says he thinks steroids is healthy, i.e., good for anybody.

3. He may have tried to catch a baseball with his head
but Canseco's memory has proven to be pretty accurate, so far. Should be intersting to see how this plays out.

12. What I don't understand is why Canseco is so persistent about the subject.
It's like he's determined for everyone to know that he's just as big an asshole as McGwire is.
