"Kiffin's previous U.S.C. tenure.... |
|
...tenure, when he climbed from graduate assistant to offensive coordinator, was marked by his ability to recruit and coach on the teams that won at least a share of two straight national championships.
But he is most remembered for having the Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush standing on the sideline on a fourth-and-2 play against Texas in the 2006 Rose Bowl. If successful, the Trojans could have run out the clock, stretched their winning streak to 35 games and won another title. But LenDale White was stopped short and Texas rallied for a 41-38 victory. U.S.C. has not played for a championship since."

1. Shocked That USC Hired Him |
|
I was really shocked that USC hired Kiffin as head coach of their team. When I first saw the story I thought maybe the news was about Kiffin's father. I first saw the story as a byline on an internet website.
After I realized that it was actually Lane Kiffin I thought was USC not paying attention to the coaching job Kiffin had done at Tennessee. I could be wrong, but I do not think this will end well for USC.

"break out" and be a great coach...he sees the signs. I'm with you, I don't get it.
