No tears for Tom Hicks
By RANDY GALLOWAY

There will be no goodbye smooch this morning for Tom Hicks. The warm departing embrace this week has already been observed on these sports pages, and elsewhere. Just not here.

But even so, future good luck to Mr. Hicks. One thing about guys who make a billion, then lose a billion, in time, they always seem to make another billion. Hicks probably will.

And on another positive note:

Nobody had what we had. Nobody in the country had three sports owners in the Big 4 that could even come close to the craziness/egos of Jerry Jones-Mark Cuban-Tom Hicks.

For that, I’m thankful. Never a dull moment around here with those kind of targets.

You could box up that perfect trifecta and always go to the pay window, at least in the media business. Not so much, of course, in the business of winning titles.

Now, Hicks is gone, to be replaced by, for one, Nolan Ryan. Not exactly a Jones or Cuban-type fit, personality-wise....

If it wasn't for Tom Hicks, * would never have been President.

In a lawsuit filed in state district court in Dallas, RTKL Associates Inc. and Vratsinas Construction allege that they are owed the money for work on a proposed development adjacent to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

According to the lawsuit, RTKL, a Baltimore-based architectural firm, and Little Rock, Ark.-based Vratsinas provided significant services relating to the planning, design and construction of the proposed Glorypark development, yet were not paid......
