You can have ONE MILLION DOLLARS..... if you throw a perfect game
and are the first one to do so.

Anyone see these ads for MLB 2K10? If you throw a perfect game, you get $1,000,000!

You know your video game sucks if you have to resort to gimmicks in order to slow the flood of people over to MLB 10: The Show. Me? I'm going straight to the local GameStop after work to pick up my copy of the MLB 10: The Show. My brother has MLB 2K9 and he says the fielding sucks and there are glitches galore.

1. I'm assuming that you have to play on line to win
so if you and a buddy get together and have one player throw fastballs down the middle, get 27 strike outs and win a million.

There will be a rich teenager real soon.

3. that would be my thought

I didn't think of what Pretzel said, but it is a very good point. There would be nothing stopping me and my brother playing against each other and one of us deciding never to swing at a pitch and to walk all the opposing batters.

I imagine the small print specifies that you have to play on the All-Star mode or whatever the hardest mode is.

4. I think it's on the game itself
you have to make a video of it and begin recording everything 5 seconds before you turn on the system.

To compete, gamers must play in MLB Today mode, select from any of the available matchups, and then choose the option to participate in the ‘Major League Baseball 2K10 contest’ that will automatically default to the proper gameplay settings according to the official gameplay rules. Entries must be recorded via camera or digital video recorder in compliance with guidelines provided by 2K in the Official Rules, and all eligible entrants must submit a copy of their recording in its entirety for verification. Submissions will only be accepted on DVD. To ensure accuracy in the verification and submission process, 2K Sports has partnered with Twin Galaxies International, the worldwide authority on video game world records, and provider of scores to Guinness World Records that are published in the Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition.

7. I wonder if the "proper gameplay settings" that option defaults to include
the automatic-at-least-one-hit module? :)

5. How difficult is that?
Just make sure you're the Giants behind two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum, hosting the Washington Natinals at AT&T. Then sit back, enjoy your large garlic fries...
