Turn on your TV right now for chilling proof that some people have too damn much money
Edited on Tue Mar-02-10 08:30 PM by taterguy
Empty seats in the Dean Dome for the game against Miami.

People paid thousands just for the privilege of being able to buy tickets.

And don't give me that "fashionably" late crap. Game's been going on half an hour.

People paid a fortune and don't bother showing up.

:wtf:

1. That people would pay thousands to see a sporting event is prima facie evidence

That they have too much money, even if they show up.

Edited for speling.

2. Could it be people can no longer afford to attend the games in the
numbers they once did.

They're just choosing not to use them

16. I read somewhere that several teams were sueing ppl...
because they weren't paying for their tickets and they committed to buy them. I know I heard this about The Redskins at Fedex; seems like the Cowboys at the new Jones Mahal too. In fact there were several teams lowering ticket prices. I'm pretty sure the Yanks did at their new shrine. I'm still waiting to see what the Giants do.

7. I have no idea what the "Dean Dome" is
And when I turned on the tv there was no sporting event on. Maybe you should give a little more details in your post? Basketball? What channel? Is the team in the dumps now?

8. It's a building named for a great progressive
Study some history.

Countless good Democrats got elected thanks to support from Dean.

And he's worked tirelessly on lots of other causes.

Even though they won the National Championship last year, because they suck this year, they don't show up.

14. It bugged the shit out of me when I was a student in the nosebleed section and seats were empty
There are certain things about UNC I'm very proud of.

The behavior of its basketball fans isn't one of them.

15. I get it.
They trade their tickets around in business deals until someone gets them that doesn't even want them. It's all about status and networking.
