Huff homers in first ever AB as a Giant...
First baseman Aubrey Huff capped a three-run first-inning uprising with a two-run home run in his first AB of the Cactus League season as the Giants rolled over the Mariners 8-7....

I do believe this is a good omen. The Giants signed Huff to bat cleanup and he demonstrated today that he's certainly capable of producing runs.

I can smell those playoffs already!!

1. Bookmarked and not recommended.
Good luck with that sniffer, upton. Must be pretty stuffed up after 55 years!

2. He's a decent hitter but you know it's a lot harder
to hit it out at China Basin than it is in Cactus League. And the .266 average that Bill James is projecting for him in 2010 ain't gonna help the weak-hitting Ginats much.

4. Okay..
James is also projecting 20 HR for Huff....So, if Molina (20) and Pablo (25) just match last year's HR totals, and if James projection is correct, the Giants will get 65 HR out of just those 3 players.

Considering they only hit 122 as an entire team last year, I'll take it...

3. LOL-Thinking an HR in Cactus League is a good omen...
if that's the case---is this a bad omen?

The three runs, two hits and two walks that Seattle amassed off Lincecum in the first inning were understandable, given the two-time Cy Young Award winner's lack of sharpness at this early stage of Spring Training.
