7th straight win tonight, 9 out of last 10, 11th straight at home. I guess we can kiss that draft pick goodbye. At least through all the trades, we'll have 11 picks in the draft though.

Personally, the canes can suck as bad as they want, just not so bad they finish worse than Toronto. As a Bruins fan we want that high pick, and Edmonton is already sucking harder to get the #1 pick. The B's need that #2!
I think Carolina was wise in their movies. Stockpiling draft picks in the NHL is always smart (note that more draft picks were exchanged this year then ever before). They're a valuable commodity.
Plus, I think the Canes are a lot better than their record indicates. They didn't really lose anyone crucial to the team and have a wealth of picks to either make or deal to other teams for current players before next season starts.
