Baylor’s Griner suspended 2 games for punch
DALLAS (AP)—Brittney Griner, the dunking freshman sensation for No. 14 Baylor, has been suspended for two games after throwing a punch that broke an opposing player’s nose in a Big 12 game.

Lady Bears coach Kim Mulkey said in a statement issued late Thursday that Griner will be suspended for one game in addition to a one-game suspension mandated by NCAA rules.

Griner was automatically suspended for Baylor’s next contest, Sunday against No. 18 Texas in Waco. Mulkey’s additional one-game suspension will force Griner to miss Baylor’s Big 12 Championship tournament opener on March 11 or 12.

Throw her out of school...how convenient they only do two games so she'll still be in the tournament...yet another Christian school shows its hypocrisy.

2. One thing
He did it after the game was over which is looked at differently than if it happens during the game. If you recall the game there was a few scuffles but they were separated and went on to the next play. Plus he was suspended 8 games (not kicked out of school which is what joey is advocating) which if you include the Rose Bowl that's 62% of the games Oregon played.

Not saying she got what she deserved, more games makes more sense. Just saying the situations are not entirely comparable considering Blount did this after a game ended(which is looked at differently than fights that occur during a game), he fought his own teammate after punching the BSU player, and charged after fans but was restrained.

way to hit the other player, it wasn't like she was right next to her...Griner has issues and is a danger to other players.

3. I know...it wasn't a suckerpunch, but she went out of her way to
hit the other young lady...she wasn't right next to her.

5. I thought for sure her season would be done.
That was a wound-up blast to the nose; the Texas Tech player's head flew back from the force. Prior to the hit, Griner just got jostled out of position, nothing out of the ordinary for a game.

6. But if Baylor did that, they could kiss their season good-bye...
...it's about priorities, not about doing what is right.
