(Fire sale continues)Karlos Dansby agrees to deal with Miami Dolphins
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 08:32 PM by JonLP24
PHOENIX - Karlos Dansby met with the Miami Dolphins and didn't get out of the city without a deal.

Sports 620 KTAR's John Gambadoro reports Dansby has agreed to a five-year deal with the Dolphins.

It was reported earlier in the day the Arizona Cardinals would make a strong push to keep Dansby.

Dansby had said late Thursday evening to The Washington Post the only trip he had scheduled was to Miami.

Tru if you wondering who he is, he is a very talented linebacker with just 5 years in the league so he has some years left. Besides Adrian Wilson he is the biggest reason on the defensive side of the ball the Cards made the playoffs 2 years in a row. :toast:

2. In Whizzy we trust
At least I did when he was our OC. He'll find a way to get you guys back in the playoffs. Sorry you're hemorrhaging all those guys though. Sounds like Bidwell is having an "everything must go" sale. :(

3. I couldn't be happier with Whiz
Ever since Haley went to KC AZ become more committed to the run which I like. Hightower-Wells was a nice 1-2 punch that could have kept pressure off of Leinart and not necessary make him win all the games. Thing is I feel they needed to build on defense rather than lose Rolle, Dansby, Berry, Okeafor, etc. for that to be successful. However we have one of the worst owners in the league so this is no surprise. Thanks for kind words. :)

4. I love the Cardinals. Always have.
My brother was a hardcore, ridiculous Cardinals fan from the St. Louis days. (We grew up in Memphis)

He took so much crap for rooting for the Cards growing up because they were just terrible. But he always stayed with them.

Being that I was a Steeler fan, last year was like a civil war, as you can imagine.

He called me the day of the Cards/Packers game two months ago and was like a kid in a candy store. So excited. He had forgotten last year's SB loss and was real optimistic about their SB chances again.

Then he died suddenly a few days later. Even though the next few weeks were a blur I remember taking small comfort in the fact that he didn't have to watch them lose to the Saints.

I kept his Cardinals hat and will wear it proudly from now on during the games. Even though it looks terrible with black and gold. :)

5. By the way

Hightower and Wells were my fantasy running backs all year. They carried me to the SB in my league (which I lost). I know that fantasy is different than real life, but I sure did enjoy that 1-2 punch you refer to...

6. I got Wells on my FF team after the Giants game where he scored his first TD
Early on they used Hightower on most downs because when they passed he was Warner's check down man. This presented problems because once they put Wells in, me, the opposing team, everyone knew they were going to run the ball with him. This oddly enough worked against the Jaguars but everyone else saw it coming. The Giants game is when they started mixing things up to great success. Once they learned Wells could catch they learned he is just as explosive as a receiver as he is at running.

So I made the Super Bowl myself but lost. :( I got a very nice year out of Hines Ward though :D

7. You're a better talent evaluator than I am
I've got a huge man-crush on Ward. I've got a Hines Ward rookie card I carry around for luck, and a signed Terrible Towel by him, and I wouldn't have touched him at the beginning of the year from a FF standpoint. But yeah, he had a helluva year. Good call.

9. I hope this move keeps the Dolphins a million miles away from Rolando McLain
Inside LB from Alabama and destined to be a pro mediocrity, or certainly not worth the 12th pick. I've been numbed for two months at the prospect of Miami naming McLain.

Dansby is a good pick up. Too bad we missed out on Rolle.

Biggest joke was Jeff Ireland praising Gibril Wilson a few weeks ago, implying the fans and media didn't understand what they were looking at when they ripped Wilson. Meanwhile, he was dumped on the first day available.

Got to hand it to that guy, no threat of standout ability but two teams overpaying 5 fold in consecutive seasons.

10. Yeah---I read Ireland's comments on Wilson...
and thought--- is he channeling Wanny/Spielman?

I think the Phins will grab the best athlete on the board with the 12 pick. OR---trade up.

Man we need a game changing receiver.

Yesterday I was reading bleacherreport.com mock draft and they had Miami with the 12 pick taking WR Dez Bryant out of Oklahoma St, first receiver off the board. He hasn't played in awhile because he was suspended mid-season for lying about having lunch with Deion. He's a very talented, physical, big receiver who you might like. No guarantees though.

Same site has AZ taking OT Charles Brown out of USC. Not sure what to think as I'm not very familiar with O-lineman out of college but it is a team need.

Edit: Found it here:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/357989-2010-nfl-mock-draft-post-free-agency
