Ben Roethlisberger is either the most unfortunate guy ever
or a stone-cold rapist, because yet another woman is accusing him of sexual assault.

1. He should retire, if not because of this, but because he's going to
be a loony in a few years with all the concussions.

2. Was just talking to a friend about that.
He gets concussions easy. Plus he's packing on weight. Both of those, to me (of course I'm just a clown who watches football) spell a quick back end to his career. I'll say 4-5 more years at most as he gets older, bigger, slower and takes those patented coverage sacks.

2 rings in five years though, I'll take it. It's been fun watching him whichever way the arc of his career bends...

Super Bowl rings and 3 more years in the league with quality numbers, he is hall of fame material.

5. Given he plays more years with the same production
He should get in. He has a career 8.0 yards per pass attempt which is amazing. That ranks him at #5 out of all the quarterbacks that's ever played.

a kid (Zac Dysert)who started QB last year who had a qb rating of 112. The kid had quite an arm in high school, and did pretty well last year with Miami. He did well, but the team, not so much. Will he be the next Roethlisberger??

Disclaimer: I went to school with several of his aunts and uncles.

6. Rape isn't the same thing as sexual assault.
Rape, legally, involves penetration. Sexual assault can mean grabbing or fondling.

Big Ben is innocent till proven guilty. That said, he's either running around molesting women or he's the dumbest, easiest mark on the face of the earth. Has he no idea how many gold diggers & fame f**ckers there are out there who are only after his money? Didn't he learn his lesson the first time? I guess not.

Also, the accuser was identified as being a 20-year-old college student. The legal drinking age in GA is 21. Just sayin'.

7. You can enter a bar at 20---
but obviously can't drink.

You're right---innocent until proven guilty.

9. So if she entered on a fake ID
got drunk and got assaulted then somehow its her fault? Is that what you are implying here? I certainly hope not. Being unable to say no because of drunkeness to a sexual advance IS still rape.

13. Not at all.
What I'm saying is that this doesn't meet the legal definition of rape from what we know. We don't know all the details.

10. I used to like him but now he seems like a thug
A short trip through google images will shown many pictures
of Ben drinking w/ lots of different ladies hanging onto him.

Add this case to the motorcycle crash and the other alleged
charges against him and you don't get a pretty picture. He is
just one more pampered jock who society has let get away
w/ too much shit for too long.

11. Eh, I'm not sure I'd hang that label on him yet.
I *think* (think being the operative word) he's just a single guy who is being very indiscriminate about who he sleeps around with. Which is his right. He is indeed a pampered jock but that doesn't set him apart from any other pro athlete. In my opinion, Ben needs to use his head for something other than a hat rack and at least start bringing a bodyguard/companion around to let him know when he's getting too drunk and letting the wrong head do his thinking.

Now, if some evidence of real thuggery arises, all bets are off. I would hope that the Steelers would kick him to the curb at that point.

18. Bodyguards Were There
According to reports his bodyguards were there. According to at least one witness, who spoke to ABC's Good Morning America Weekend, he had two bodyguards with him who were preventing guys from getting to him, but letting females get to him.

I never heard that. I've been wrong before... but I follow the guy pretty closely and I never got a whiff of that. Now Ryan Clark, the Steelers safety, is a pretty outspoken Christian, I believe.

19. Let's break tis down...
If you're going to report him drinking shouldn't you show a picture of him actually drinking?

Have you ever been in a car accident? if so---does that make you an irresponsible person? The dude had an accident---he wasn't drinking, drugs, etc. He had a vehicle accident. Period.

Number 3: The 1st woman who is accusing him of assault looks like an absolute Grifter... No charges were filed and she'll be lucky to have a day in Civil court.

The current incident looks much the same.

Let's convict the guy in court before we convict him here at DU.

Oh and BTW: So the fuck what that a single famous guy has chicks hanging on him.

no reason in the world why he shouldn't have had a helmet on...one thing to have an accident, another thing to cause more damage than need be ebcause you're too stupid to take precautions.

22. I hope I am wrong but what I seeing is a pattern of behavior that ....
.... puts him in bad situations.

The motorcycle crash .... no helmet, wrong license, and he was @ fault in the accident.

The first problem w/ the women (who might be a grifter) .... the world is filled w/
people who will try to take advantage of the situation and bring that women back
to his room left him open to all kinds of charges.

The women in GA .... nothing good ever happens when you are out after 1:00 AM
having bodyguards who only let women back in to his V.I.P. area ..... again maybe nothing
happened but he put himself in a bad spot.

Back in the day I hung out w/ rugby players and a wild crowd .... God only knows why I didn't
wind up dead or really fucked up.

30. My understanding of the motorcycle accident is that it wasn't Ben's fault.
From what I've read, the he was approaching a light that had just turned green and the other driver made the infamous Pittsburgh left (turning left before opposing straight traffic moves).

24. I was recently in Milledgeville
on a college visit for my son and it is the home to GCSU. This is a very small liberal arts public university. It only has 4,500 students. It is the 3rd or 4th best academic school in the state after UGA,Georgia Tech and the third and forth are eihter GA.State or GCSU. The students are pretty good students. One has to question one's respect for people when you blow into this small student body and impose yourself on people.
The guy after it is all said and done must be a jerk.

sexual predator. When the first allegation broke last summer, I didn't think much of the story because the woman never saw a doctor and waited a year to report the incident. Not saying she was lying, just that she delayed a little too long for her accusation to have much credibility. Not to mention Ben had the reputation locally as a really good, standup guy and it just didn't seem likely that he would be a rapist.

It's since come out in the local scuttlebutt here that Ben is, in actuality, a drunken jerk who acts like a loud obnoxious ass at bars, refuses to pay for drinks and cover charges because he's Big Ben and shouldn't have to pay, doesn't tip wait staff, you get the picture - an entitled jock who thinks he is better than the common people.

This latest incident has me rethinking my opinion. The alleged victim got medical attention and reported the incident immediately. In addition, Ben is being asked to provide DNA, which leads me to think that there is medical evidence that some sort of activity occurred. There's a lot more credibility to this woman's story, IMO.

He totally disgusts me, even if these charges are false. He just turned 28, why is he hanging around in college bars in BFE, Georgia? Is his ego such that he's unable to be anything other than the gigantic fish in a tiny pond? The situation appears to be that he was either raping or having consensual sex with a woman in the bathroom of a college bar. Does he have no class or dignity, or more importantly, brains? He's being paid over $100 million to play football, he should use some of that money to buy better handlers.
