LeBron James becomes youngest to score 15,000 points
March 19, 2010 / USA Today

CHICAGO — If indeed LeBron James (FSY) decides to leave Cleveland, fans in Chicago would certainly hail The King. They certainly let out enough cheers along with those oohs and aahs as he soared around the United Center on Friday night.

James became the youngest player to score 15,000 career points, breaking Kobe Bryant's (FSY) mark by more than two years, and the Cavaliers pulled away to beat the Bulls 92-85 for their 12th win in 13 games.

Breaking that record, James said, was "very humbling" and the result of all the time he spends honing his game.

4. It is impressive
when you look at many HS players took a few years before they started putting up respectable numbers in Jermaine O'Neal, Al Harrington, Tracy McGrady, and Rashard Lewis.

Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant had a typical rookie year but did well in their second year so I didn't use them. Amare Stoudemire actually won rookie of the year.

However LeBron James jumped from high school to the league and averaged 20 points a game. Think about how difficult that is to accomplish when the NBA is superior talented to high school level competition and his ability to adjust to that.

3. Yep. Should be 'fastest' not 'youngest'.
With people entering the league at different ages, youngest doesn't really mean anything.
