Most egregious call in NCAA Tourney history?
I vote for the end of the 1977 UNC-Charlotte - Marquette game.

You'd have to be fucking blind not to see that was offensive goal-tending.

Guess the suits at the Network were nervous about a UNC vs UNC final, that would be ignored by 49 states.

And everyone wanted a nice send-off for Al McGuire.

What's your vote?

1. The clock game
March 21, 1986: With 2:21 remaining in an NCAA tournament regional semifinal against Kansas, the clock stops for between 11 and 19 seconds of play (depending on the account). With 9 seconds left, Kansas' Archie Marshall tips in the game-tying score and the Jayhawks go on to win in overtime, 96-86.

This 'accident' happened at Kemper Arena in Kansas City...

3. The "clock game" was first to spring to mind for me, too.
Here's video of the 1977 game end from the OP.

Jud never did have much luck with the clocks. It took Magic for him to win a title at all ;)

4. Way to fuck up a perfectly good rant
I haven't actually seen the play in question since I was 10 years old in 1977.

Upon, further review, it seems perfectly legit.

I've wasted a lifetime of rage and bitterness.

Damn you.

Damn you straight to hell.

5. sorry taterguy!
I looked it up because I don't think I ever saw that play... I can see how it might have been a traumatic experience if you were rooting for UNC-Charlotte!
