Giants sign Cain, Affeldt and Wilson to extensions

The Giants made a strong statement about the importance of pitching Sunday, signing pitchers Jeremy Affeldt, Matt Cain and Brian Wilson to contract extensions.

"It's our window," Giants general manager Brian Sabean said. "We had a position-player window with Bonds and we have these guys for <2012> now. The comfort in knowing that they are going to be in Giants uniforms helping us win games is a statement in itself."

Affeldt received a one-year extension for the 2011 season, with a club option for 2012, Cain received a new three-year contract for 2010-12, and Wilson received a two-year extension for 2011 and 2012.
