Who's Better Lebron James or Kevin Durant ?
I just wanted to get the opinions of members of DU concerning Lebron James and Kevin Durant. Lebron James gets all the attention, but Kevin Durant has been have a very good year this year. So, who do DU members think is the better player?

1. I don't like the NBA
but the Blazers should have taken Durant instead of Oden. It's like the Michael Jordan, Sam Bowie thing all over again..

3. Get back to me when either has as many rings as Bill Russell
Seriously, too soon to tell.

(And, well, the play-offs haven't started yet, so I haven't actually watched Durant play)

4. LeBron James should be MVP this season
but Kevin Durant is an amazing player. He's top 5 in the NBA in my book.

6. LBJ
Kevin Durant doesn't impress me that much. Sure, the guy can score a bunch of points and he has silky moves, but the improvement of Russel Westbrook is why that team has turned it around. Durant could drop 30 a night and lose the game because Westbrook got outplayed. He doesn't do enough to get his teammates involved, 2.7 assists and 3.4 turnovers means he is prone to making bad passes. His effort on defense is also suspect.

James, on the other hand, is a flawless passer, averaging 8.5 dimes per game with the same 3.4 turnovers per game as Durant has. Besides his ability to get other players involved, James can score points at will, dropping about 30 a night. He isn't a pushover on defense or the boards, either.

The point is Durant can be stopped, he needs to have the ball to score AND someone who can put it in his hands while trying to run the offense. James, and I'm not a fan of his at all, cannot be stopped. His game is so much more complete than Durant's game. Durant is a top-10 guy, but people like Brandon Roy are still better than he is.

And no, the Blazers made the right choice. We have a logjam at the SF position, and we need the defense there, not offense. If Oden can play, he'll be a monster
