Blues Center Tkachuk To Retire At End Of Season

St Louis, MO, United States (AHN) - St. Louis forward Keith Tkachuk will play the final game of his 18-year career Friday, after the Blues forward announced his plan to retire after the season Wednesday.

Tkachuk, 38, made the announcement one day after the Blues were knocked out of the playoff race Tuesday.

The veteran forward skipped a game against the Chicago Blackhawks because of a lower-body injury.

Tkachuk scored 1,063 points (538 goals and 525 assists) and 2,219 penalty minutes in 18 years.

1. In other Coyote news

Phoenix down 2-0 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd period scores 2 goals in 5 minutes to tie the game 2-2. Regulation ends and remains tied throughout overtime.

Then the shootout.

LA scores first. Phoenix proceeds to miss their first two shots and were able to force two LA misses. On the Coyotes third shot they score to force another shot for both teams. LA misses their 4th shot and Phoenix scores to win the game!!

WOW--I can't even count how many shootouts I watched that ended up in Coyotes victory but they got to lead the league or be in the top 3 at least in shootout victories.
