Jason Taylor to join the Jets
Edited on Tue Apr-20-10 02:30 PM by JonLP24
The veteran pass rusher will sign a one-year deal with the New York Jets as soon as Wednesday, Taylor's agent, Gary Wichard, told the Miami Herald.

Per the report, Taylor is expected to fly to New York to meet with the Jets again Wednesday morning. His contract could be worth as much as $4 million if all incentives are reached.

Taylor had wanted to re-sign with the Miami Dolphins, but no offer was extended.

The Dolphins have consistently said they wouldn't be willing to act on Taylor, 35, until after the draft.

2. I'm devastated
Gonna miss him. And I still have his Jersey. I'm not gonna give it up even though he's going to the Jets. I will always love him.

4. I'll root for this Dolphin team, not the regime
I don't care one way or another about Parcells, Ireland or Sparano, similar to their treatment of the veteran players.

I suggest they win big, otherwise they'll be remembered as bigger failures than actual, due to the boring secrecy and stuffy attitude.

Best of luck to Jason Taylor, truly one of the special players in Miami history. My dad is a great barometer. He remembers all the early '70s players and their numbers, and virtually no one from the subsequent decades. But he always gushes over Jason Taylor.

but as a long time observer of this team I certainly see the building blocks.

Remember---they're only beginning year three of cleaning up the Chernobolazation of this Franchise by the previous 3 coaches.

8. Meh.
He did nothing for the Skins two years ago. Just another over priced over the hill vet. Thats assuming he even stays healthy.

10. Not only because of him
But because of everything else they have done. They were pretty good last year and now they are vastly superior.

7. Wonder how the fans will respond throughout the season
Taylor's probably the most vocal figure in the Jets-Dolphins rivalry, especially in his disdain for New York fans.
