Honestly--- I can't see Tebow making it as an NFL QB. |
|
Oh sure I'm bias---Gators suck... Tebow's Prophesizing , Tebow worship, etc.... but my opinion comes from observing NFL QB's for a very long time.
I always thought the dude had a horrible throwing motion--- that winding Pitcher like motion.... and that his ball had a bit of a lame duck path to the receiver.
They tell us he worked on his motion and it has improved---but come on... you throw a certain way all your life and you change that within a couple of months...I don't buy it.
His running ability. Sure---he's a big strong dude who can Wildcat in College. Question is---can he Wildcat in the Pros?
The success of the Miami Dolphins and their Wildcat is simple... a Running back--Ronnie Brown, or sometimes Ricky Williams runs it. These are pure Running Backs who have the skill set and speed to run between the tackles or sweep to the ends.
Could you classify Tebow as a Running Back. Almost but not quite.
Speed. Sorry---he's quick for a College QB but the NFL will eat him up.
The intangibles. Say want you want about St. Tebow--- but the kid can Ball and he's a proven winner.
He just might surprise us all and honestly I would be to surprised if he did.

1. His reviews are not good. |
|
The best of them is pretty much lukewarm calling him a project. I think most of those are more like sympathetic endorsements from guys that are right wingers at heart. He'll probably get drafted because there's plenty of sympathetic right wingers in the NFL and he'll sell jerseys but I don't see him having a long successful career as a QB. He's a career clipboard holder.

Tim is the second best college player I've seen , Hershel Walker was the best. I guess will see about his NFL career.

3. It's such a huge leap from college to the pros that anything is possible |
|
He strikes me as a player having the ability and motivation to learn. I'll take that over a QB like JeMarcus Russell any day.

4. He's working on his windup and release |
|
Which is what he needs to improve on. Those passing windows in the NFL, they close quickly and the time he brings the ball up to throw it will take too much time. I've heard that he is improving so we'll see.
