Hicks Up To His Old Tricks
BOSTON -- Major League Baseball has taken control of the sale of Texas Rangers and will use all of its resources to ensure that the club is sold to Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan.

A statement was issued shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, only a few hours after owner Tom Hicks said that Greenberg-Ryan might not end up with the club after the sale process reached an impasse.

The sale won't be completed next week, and there is no timetable for the process to be completed. But MLB is in charge after finally tiring of Hicks' tactics and his failure to satisfy the 40 lenders who hold $525 million in Hicks Sports Group debt.
