SEC exploring expansion, just in case.
Hmmm. How many more toothless schools are there out there that the SEC can absorb?

Oh yeah! Miami of Florida is available!!

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive says the league isn't considering adding teams but is working on a plan to keep up with other conferences if they expand just in case.

The commissioner said Monday that the 12-member SEC hasn't talked to any institutions about joining and has no plans to do so. The expansion exploration is just an internal look at the potential advantages and disadvantages in case there is a "significant shift in the conference paradigm," he said.

Slive didn't elaborate on how much expansion would fit that billing.

"But I'll know," he said.

League expansion has been a hot topic since the Big Ten announced in December that it was considering expanding.

2. Texas and Texas A&M. Maybe Okyhomey.
After the Big Ten snags Nebraska and Missouri. The worthless Colorado Buffs head to the weak PAC-10. The rest of Big 12...who cares?

4. One of three things will happen, mad. I've been saying it all along.
The Big Ten takes ND. EVERYBODY'S happy. Except your ass. Or 3 teams. 2 from the East (Rutgers & Syracuse) and Missouri. Then we have a little scrambling. But the big move: then every thing changes. 16 teams. Then college sports changes as we know it and nothing is the same.

5. Question for you con.
How much longer does ND's contract last with NBC? Who will dump who? And will ND made to be the poor stepchild of the Big Ten. The team that gets is ass kicked every week in the Big Ten.

13. ND makes 10 million $$$ more than the current contract in TV revenue for joining the Big Ten
Plus, they are tailor-made for the GMAC Bowl against a MAC team.

8. I know the Big Ten thinks they need the New York market, but I have a
buddy that lives in NYC and he tells me that college football is a non-entity in New York, even upstate.

To hell with Syracuse and Rutgers, they both blow. We need teams that will strengthen the Big Ten -- in order: ND, Nebraska, Pitt.

10. I lived in the NYC area for over twenty years and college football is nearly
non-existent in that area. The highlight game of the year is Yale-UConn or Yale-Harvard.

I don't want ND in the Big 10, and I doubt whether Nebraska will leave the Big 12 as they don't have any real rivals in the Big 10. Pitt is a possibility given there geographic location and rivalry with Penn State.

Syracuse and Rutgers??

6. Texas and Oklahoma would probably be the first choices
It would add two new states to thier market and expand their contract with ESPN to $10000000 billion trillion dollars.

14. At the University of KY we call them student athletes
Perhaps the SEC's dominance of the game lately as well as the past Football national championships (25 officially claimed)

Notes
The following table lists national titles that are reported by the NCAA's web page "Past Division I-A Football National Champions". Schools don't necessarily claim each of these championships, and some schools may claim a championship awarded by one source while another school does not claim a championship given by the same source.
Prior to 1932, Auburn University was named national champion in football in 1913 by Billingsley.
Prior to 1932, the University of Georgia was named national champion in football in 1927 by the Boand and Poling polls.
Prior to 1932, the University of Alabama claimed national titles in football in 1925, 1926, and 1930.
Prior to 1932, Louisiana State University was named national champion in football in 1908 by the National Championship Foundation.
Prior to 1932, former member Georgia Tech claimed football national titles in 1917 and 1928.
Prior to joining the SEC in 1992, the University of Arkansas claimed the 1964 football championship.
