a few days late, but, Steve Cauthen turned 50 on Derby Day.....
In 1978, Cauthen rode Affirmed to wins in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. No horse has won the Triple Crown since.

Most amazing in the races was that Alydar finished second in all three.

Wow has it been that long ago???

We sure got to know Penny Tweedy in the early '70s.
