Mets with back to back to back shutouts of the Phillies |
|
This team has to be one of the biggest cock tease Mets teams we've had in years.
Even more interesting about this is that the Phillies, having the reputation of being the "anti-Mets", sound a lot like the ill fated 2007 and 2008 Mets. Quotes like "Well, it doesn't matter, we're still in first place" sound awfully simialar to quotes I heard from various Mets players during those ill fated seasons. Maybe the Phillies have gotten a lil too comfortable and lost the ole "eye of the Tiger".

1. Can you tell me who said "Well it doesn't matter, we're still in first place?" |

I don't believe any of our guys said that, and when you consider that this is May, that the Phillies typically go into a skid around this time of year (sometimes a little later), and that we've had to deal with a lot of injuries already, I don't think it's time to panic just yet, even though I'll concede that we've sucked horribly for the last week or so.

“Big picture, a loss is a loss, no matter how you spin it. We’re still in first place,” Werth said. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=300527121
