1. Three for the show! LeBron joins Wade, Bosh on Miami Heat
Edited on Thu Jul-08-10 08:38 PM by Scurrilous

"The King is coming.

Or, better yet, the Kingdom will soon be on location in Miami. Commence the march toward multiple NBA championships as the league's latest star-studded basketball dynasty.

LeBron James, the league's reigning two-time Most Valuable Player and preeminent star, shook up the sports world Thursday night by agreeing to a contract with the Heat during a made-for-TV drama show on ESPN."

2. Worst decision of his life.
I hope he doesn't win a goddamned thing. He could have built another dynasty in Chicago if he wasn't so scared of Jordan's legacy.

5. Dick move of the Century.
Cleveland gets stabbed in the balls on national TV. Quel Surprise. It just doesn't get anymore typical than this.

Our city's going to be looking forward to a long, long, decades LONG stretch of sports mediocrity. Larry Dolan isn't interested in chasing a title, and the way Basebusiness is run, he really can't.

Expansion teams have literally had more progress than the team currently posing as the Browns. They have one playoff appearance, they're often outscored by World Cup Soccer teams, the most worked player is the punter, they can't even get through one season without major injuries to both lines (because of which we have no running game, and no running game means no red zone success) and has the worst, absolute WORST luck in drafts.

If I were the Cavs, I'd have an "everything must go" fire sale, get rid of bad contracts, tank some seasons and build the OKC way. Young talent, smart moves, long term deals, great coaching. Fuck stars; they'll just leave you for the Large Market Sports Entitlement Machine every time. Of course, on that theory, the Clippers should have at least 1 or 2 titles now.

Oh look. It's raining. Right on fucking cue.

7. James really rubbed Cleveland's nose in it, didn't he?
If he wanted to leave to pursue a title, fine. But why did he need to create the media circus? He supposedly felt so much love and loyalty to his home, but then he goes on national TV and kisses them goodbye.

8. I agree
I've changed my avvie in support of my Cleveland peeps (though my relatvies are more Browns fans than Cavs). LeBron might be a bigger dick than Art Modell. I'll add the Miami Heat to my list with Baltimore Ravens to loathe as a native Ohioan

11. I don't give a fuck about James myself Condem
I do give a fuck about the stake in the heart he gave to my relatives in friends in Cleveland who are bigger lovers of sports than almost ANY city in the US. Way better than Miami for sure. Miami is about the beach and night life, not sports. In Cleveland they have nothing but their sports....

with a management team who knew how to build a championship team.

The Cav's had 7 years to build one and failed miserably.

20. 3 years best record in the NBA?
Idk how much more you want out of management then that. He quit on his team in series after it wasn't looking bright. Btw those 3 players never had to have a summit and get together to say where they were going they were loyal. AND the biggest thing is that they made other people around them better, lebron is all for himself and no one else aka why they couldn't win.

it don't matter what you do in the regular season. Wasn't looking bright? They had seven years to build a team around him and failed.

So you're telling me that Lebron didn't make other teammates better with him on the team---dude you don't know what you are talking about.

Do you know how many assists LaBron averaged per game? 7

Kobe--4.7

Jordan---5.3

Yeah---it sure looks like LaBron is all about himself.

That's what he did againt the celtics, no way to deny it. He had good players, Jamison, Williams, Oneal, etc. I don't even give a fuck about the cave but it's obvious.

Pacers fan btw so I know my losing and when players don't try

he has a bad series against the Celt's and he's vilified as a quitter---it's fucking horseshit.

So I guess Manning quit against New Orleans when he threw that horrible interception in the SB?

41. I didn't see any quit
Except by the entire Cavs teams in the last 1-2 minutes left in an elimination game. They walked the ball up court rather than trying to make a quick shot and foul. I though the Celtics played really good defense and Rando had some great games.

28. Doesn't mean shit
going to a parade or selling out when a star comes is immaterial. A Basketball mecca is whether it is truly the soul of the city. Go to NYC or Philadelphia and you will see basketball towns. The same can be said about Kentucky and Indiana. Here's a real shocker for the uninformed, Boston has never been a basketball town. When Russell was there they were rarely popular. Boston is a hockey and baseball town.

I don't know what Miami is but going to a parade means shit.

32. Your right
I kinda thought that a quarter million people out in the hot Florida summer sun for a parade were fans.
I guess that really didn't give a shit but for some reason bought those jerseys and other apparel just to show them off?
Maybe you could explain why 1/4 of a million people would go to a parade with your intellectual genius

34. basketball towns and states
go to the high school games. If you want to see if Miami is a basketball town go to your local high are determined by what is most important in high school. Are the high school games a big deal? How many basketball courts are built and how often are both white kids and black kids playing. That is how you determine whether an area is a basketball crazed town or state.

If you go to Philly, NY,Indiana, or Kentucky the big high school game is the basketball game not the football game.

I live in Atlanta. This is a football town. Even though we have plenty of pros coming out of here. It's a football state.

Three pros recently came out of my kid's high school and my daughter was a cheerleader for both the football and basketball team. The basketball team were state champs.

Football was still king.

Now I didn't say what Miami is I just said that turning out to a rally means nothing.

What is the soul of Miami. I have always thought Football was king in Miami.

you tell me.

40. makes sense that Cleveland loves baseball
after all it is an original city and they did use Cleveland for the movie "Major League" which was quite funny. by the way, Charlie Sheen could actually really play baseball. Look at his mechanics, they are perfect. He was the star shortstop and reliever on his high school team. Scouts said he was at least a double AA player.
The browns were always big in Cleveland(Otto Graham)
