Am I a Rangers fan again?

Yes!

Tom Hicks can go home and reminisce with his neighbor, Dubya, now.

Nolan Ryan is my hero (even if he's a Repuke).

3. The Rockies aren't in the American League.
Much to my consternation for 17 years.

The real question should be do I like the Rangers more than the A's or Royals. I don't know. All I know is that I can now quit hating the Rangers for their ownership.

5. The A's will supplant the Rangers next year
They have a good, young staff of starting pitching and hitting, and one of the most underrated catchers in the American League.

#1 in the West – next year.

An Auggie prediction

2. How transparent can you get?
So now the Rangers, no doubt because of their better record, have now supplanted the Rockies has your favorite team. You're a worse bandwagon jumper than mad...and that's saying something.

4. May I remind you...
that I was a Rangers fan loooong before there were the Rockies.

I used to go to many of their games when I lived in Arlington. Far more than the Rockies games I have gone to. Those were the days of cheap tickets and beer.

When Ted Williams arrived with his team from Washington in 1972, I went absolutely gaga,

But I have been absolutely sick ever since The Shrub became the Rangers president and was made rich by Tom Hicks.

11. Rangers exit bankruptcy!
Ryan-Greenberg's takeover of Rangers, bankruptcy exit approved

04:20 PM CDT on Thursday, August 5, 2010

FORT WORTH -- A U.S. bankruptcy judge this afternoon approved a reorganization plan that includes the sale of the Texas Rangers to the group led by Chuck Greenberg.

The $593 million deal is $130 million than the May offer that lenders had blocked.

Greenberg, a Pittsburgh sports attorney, and current Rangers President Nolan Ryan landed the team just before 1 a.m. Thursday when a rival group led by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban dropped out of the bidding.

Greenberg said that the Major League Baseball's owners could approve his group's purchase next Thursday and that they would be in place the next day.

Also Thursday, a source said that current owner Tom Hicks no longer has any stake in the new group. Ryan went further on 105.3 The Fan, telling host Newy Scruggs that Hicks would have no role at all with the team.

Greenberg also said he would OK a contract extension for manager Ron Washington.

The Rangers exited federal bankruptcy protection on Thursday....
