Saw my Cardinals last Saturday. I think Leinart has the job sown up. He was 6/7 while Derek Anderson was 13/22 for 1 TD, and 2 INTs. The second one wasn't entirely his fault because it bounced of his reciever's hands. Though there could be a question of how hard he threw it but if it hits your hands you got to catch it. Anyways that was interested as well as watching the changes on the O-line and see how they worked together. They had a RT go to LT, switched a guard, and added Faneca. They had troubles getting some pass protection but I think they did fine but needed to do a lot better to succeed in the regular season. I really loved the way Dominique Rogers-Cromartie and Adrian Wilson opened up the game. They were awesome and everywhere.
Daryl Washington, the rookie out of TCU had a phenomenal game. Absolutely amazing. I hope he plays this way all the time!!
Hey sorry about that. It was the first football game I cared about since the Super Bowl. :)

and Huey Lewis popped in my head. The rest is 15 post thread history. I did threaten to eat someone, so I'd say the thread was a success.

5. Why, yes I am, Auggie. |

Can we maybe go back to one pennant winner from each league? I mean, if we're going to play a 162 fucking games, can we make every one count?!?!

25. Is that the reason for your discontent? |

Seems to me adding division and wild card winners makes more games count for more teams. I agree some elements have really been screwed up -- the season is too long, the DH, no salary cap, manipulated media coverage -- but baseball is still a beautiful game.

26. It IS a beautiful game, Auggie. |
|
This is strictly a personal opinion. I can't watch a couple of innings, let alone a full game before I'm as bored as reading one of mad's posts. Yet, it's no problem to sit down and watch a college or pro football game. Even Texas, for crissakes. Methinks I speak for a lot of sports fans in todays world.

7. I have a deep philosophical question... |
|
Now, I know the beauty of baseball is that it is a game with no clock. And I like that. It makes the game timeless and outside of time. There's a zenfulness to that. But why in the name of the sweet baby jesus has the lack of a clock become an occasion for me to watch every last batter stand around and scratch his ass for ten minutes between each and every pitch?

10. Not to be a Rules Hitler but I think |

the pitcher only get 20 seconds between pitches. Now I'm not sure how the umpire clocks it, probably in his fat head, and I've never seen it punished.

The OK state fair is about as redneck as it gets. Counting mullets on non-Indians and watching my skinny husband cram fried junk in his face is fun for the whole family!
I can't wait to see the civilization that ensues at the Iowa state fair!
