Damon Says "No" To Red Sox
Edited on Tue Aug-24-10 04:07 PM by Yavin4
Damon is staying put:

Johnny Damon told Jason Beck of MLB.com that he is not going back to the Red Sox.

"I'm not going," said Damon. There's still some time for him to change his mind, but this sounds pretty final. From a pure baseball prospective, it makes plenty of sense for Damon to return to Boston, but we're sure he has his reasons for being reluctant to do so. By the way, the Tigers enter play Tuesday a distant 10 games out of first in the AL Central and 15 out in the AL Wild Card. Aug. 24 - 4:24 pm et

2. Not a surprise, more and more it sounded just like The Sox didn't want
TB to get him, and damon probably figured he wouldn't get a contract with Boston next season...he just better hope the Tigers are willing to throw him a few crumbs and keep him for next season...he ain't marketable no more.

4. Not surprising at all that he would not want to play in front of the douchebags that
spewed satanic comments at him.

5. Eh, you must have as thin a skin as he does...the Red Sox tried to keep him...
...he has no loyalty whatsoever...if someone dangled something better in front of him he'd be flipping off Detroit right now.
