Fantasy trade offer- should I take it? |
|
Dez Bryant (Dallas) for Austin Collie (Ind.)
I have Collie-this was offered to me by another member of the league
I am starting Ochocinco and Gaffney (Denver) and have Percy Harvin (Minn.) and Gonzalez (Ind.) on the roser.
Collie could be the #4 receiver in Indie (behind Garcon, Wayne, and Dallas Clark) and Bryant could be the ....well ...#4 in Dallas after last years surprise Austin Miles, Roy Williams (he is going to PLAY someday you would think) and Witten.
What do you think?

BTW my "All Headache team" is rounded out by Phillip Rivers (plays no one this year), Reggie Bush, and Ricky Williams. Hey I don't have to be in the lockerroom with them.

1. Id do it. Bryant has way more upside than Collie does. |
|
I think Collie will be behind Gonzalez, Wayne, and Garcon. Bryant will probably eventually replace Williams as the 2.

I was short on receivers and was researching ones for potential sleepers. This was right after the draft and before the fantasy football season. I found an article where a fan was urging Gonzalez to have a great fantasy year for him or her(can't remember). Gonzalez said, "Trade me for Austin Collie". He went on to explain he does all the right things in practice and is a fantastic player. If people followed his advice they would've done better. I waited too long myself to sign Austin Collie ('cause I didn't know who he was at the time) and Pierre Garcon for that matter.

2. Take Bryant, he's going to replace Williams at some point this season. |
|
As long as you don't need him to start for you immediately. Jerry Jones didn't get the guy to sit on the bench, Williams had his chance to show some skills and he hasn't shown much.

While Bryant may have more of an upside, first year receivers take some time to get use to running routes. It takes time to be in the right spot at the right time.
Unless it's a keeper league, dump him.

I think he and PMann will click this year. Keep in mind that, at this point, receivers are a dime a dozen.
I've got Ricky W. on the bench right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if he scores big points @ BUF.
I had Reggie Bush last year, and he was nothing but a fucking headache every week.
2 cents :)
