No excuses...you're all slacking off!!!!

That didn't take long.

Just 29 minutes into the NFL season, Cincinnati Bengals' Chad Ochocino and Terrell Owens(notes) already are getting into trouble. The duo weren't on the field for a Hail Mary attempt at the end of the first half of their team's game against the New England Patriots because they had left early for the locker room.

Up 24-3, the Pats attempted a 56-yard field goal with six seconds remaining in the half. The kick missed and one second remained on the clock, enough time for Carson Palmer(notes) to attempt a Hail Mary down the field. But wide receivers T.O. and Ochocinco were nowhere to be found, having retreated to the locker room before the field-goal try.

Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy reports that Ochocinco left the field early for an IV, but Owens did so because he thought the half was over. Stunning that T.O.'s judgment isn't sound.

They're not the first players to mistakenly walk off the field before the end of a half, but when you invite as much attention as those two do, you have to deal with added scrutiny. In fairness, there's usually a pretty good chance a 56-yard kick will run out the clock with six seconds remaining, but that's still not a valid excuse to leave the field. There are any number of circumstances that could have led to the Bengals getting the ball back.

1. I think everyone has filed it under the "who cares" category.
Plus, all of the hurricanes fans are still whining about losing to Ohio State in championship game seven or eight years ago.
