1. How can they be choking?
They never were in first place in either division or wild card and they never had higher than a 17% chance of making the post season this month anyways. Now they have a 1.1% chance of making the post season.

3. On Sept. 18th..
the Rockies were 1 game out of first and only 1/2 game behind the second place Giants. Since then, the Rox have lost 5 straight, three of them to the last place D-Backs. I can see how many would interpret that as "choking"..

5. They're fading for sure
I can't really tell as I can't see the games. There is difference between choking and getting beat.

The last game against the Dbacks was interesting. They were trailing 8-2 and Gonzales went on a tear but it wasn't enough as they fell 9-10. The team doesn't quit and they showed that by their winning streak from last week and the week before that. AZ seems to be playing better under Kirk Gibson at the moment. However perhaps you're right. I'm basing all this on box scores and recaps.

2. That was the sound of a two-time Cy Young award winner
shutting down a pretty potent offense.

Chacin threw a great game too, but Lincecum was a bit better.

IP: 8

H: 2

R: 1

K: 9

BB: 0

I'd say Timmy's back!
