Joe Namath: [Braylon Edwards] Penalty not harsh enough
NEW YORK -- New York Jets legend Joe Namath expressed disappointment on Thursday about the Jets' decision to allow wideout Braylon Edwards to play Sunday night against the Miami Dolphins.

"As far as benching him for the start of the game being a penalty to Braylon, excuse me! That's not gonna bother him a little bit," Namath said on "The Michael Kay Show" on 1050 ESPN Radio. " if you're gonna play him, play him from the start, don't penalize the team."

Namath also said he was disappointed that teammates D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Vernon Gholston were in the car with Edwards at the time of the incident.

"It's sad that D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Gholston were there," Namath said. "I don't understand why they couldn't have helped out."

Wonder how Suzy Kolber feels about Namath complaining about someone being drunk? :)

1. The NFL needs to come down harder on DUIs
Why is it a team issue and not a league issue?

.16 is way up there. They couldn't find a cab? In Manhatten???

As for Broadway Joe, well... :eyes:

In August 1983, "Namath was arrested in West Hollywood for drunk driving, an offense he paid for with a $390 fine, three years' summary probation, and a promise to complete alcohol education classes."

3. There's an enormous difference between being drunk and driving drunk
I don't care how drunk people get, until they jeopardize others.
