you can't field a triple-A lineup for half the season and still make the playoffs. Frankly, I'm surprised with the 1-4 hitters missing more than 1/2 the games this season, they lasted this long.

The Yankees spent $50 million dollars more than the Sox and it looks like it's going to get them about an extra 8 wins. If you have the extra $50 million, though, and that's the difference between making and missing the playoffs, it's money well spent.
