The Giants win the NL West!!
Edited on Sun Oct-03-10 06:22 PM by Upton
:woohoo:

Jonathan Sanchez pitched the San Francisco Giants back into the playoffs after a six-year absence, beating the San Diego Padres 3-0 Sunday to wrap up the NL West title.

The Giants finally got it done -- on their third try against the Padres this weekend -- and captured their first division crown and playoff berth since 2003.

San Francisco will host the wild-card Atlanta Braves starting Thursday at AT&T Park, with ace Tim Lincecum well rested to go Game 1.

4. Tim's got to get ready for game one against the Braves..
Oh hey, I've got a fun fact for you...did you know Ublado is only the third pitcher in MLB history to fail to win 20 games after having 15 at the All Star break? The other two being Saberhagen in 1987 and Maddux in '88.

7. I'm watching the post game show now..
This is great, particularly since after yesterday I had a sense of impending doom.

No reason they can't beat the Braves. ..the Giants should be the favorites.

8. Congratulations. Congratu-Fucking-Lations.
Here's to the hope that they can bring the "Commissioner's Trophy" back to the West Coast where it belongs.

10. Congrats
The Giants absolutely deserve to be proud of themselves. No one thought this was going to happen. How many games behind were they at their lowest point in the season, anyway? It was an incredible comeback.

They should beat the Braves considering, with their stellar starting staff, they should have an advantage with home field and only needing 3 wins.

Of course, it won't last. They'll find a way to keep that 56 year streak alive!!
