Since the Rangers last won a postseason game.

Now lets see if the other Washington Senators can beat the Damned Yankees.

What a crappy looking field.

1. Lee was impressive
They should do well... I hope they make the WS from the AL side.

I agree with you about the field.

2. More importantly..
have the Rangers EVER won a playoff series? And their all time playoff record against the Yankees is 1-9...not very encouraging considering that's probably who they are going to get should they beat TB. Those reasons alone mean I'm rooting for the Rays.

3. Not very good reasons
because those are historical numbers. The last time the Yankees and Rangers met in the post season was 1999, did that Rangers team have Cliff Lee? You could also ask did those Yankees have A-Rod? The point is stuff that happens in the past have little-to-nothing to do with today or what might happen in the future(such as a Rangers-Yankees ALCS).

It is like last year when almost everyone on ESPN was saying "Tom Brady (or Belichick) doesn't lose at home in the playoffs." Well, ask Baltimore.

4. Can't pitch Cliff Lee everyday..
and often a change of players mixed with time doesn't seem to alter a team's luck....ask the pre 2004 Red Sox, the Cubs, or even my Giants..

The Yankees have something over the Rangers, playoff wins in '96,'98 and '99. And though they went 4-4 this year against NY, they were swept for the season in Yankee Stadium. Expect it to continue should they meet in the playoffs. Anyway, forget all the other stuff, NY has the superior team overall.. That's why I'm rooting for the Rays..
