26. LOL I've hated the Yankees since the 70s |
|
when they beat the Royals in the playoffs s many times.
My son was born Oct 6, 1978. He was my parents' first grandchild. We watched the playoff game while I was in labor. When I finally had the baby, my dad said it would have been a perfect day if the Royals had only beat the Yankees.
Priorities. :)

44. Well, its mostly been rabid Philly sports fans ( except for the 76ers )everyone |
|
can agree on how much they suck
But growing up, yes....far too many cases of beer and bowls of dip have fallen victim to screaming, cartwheeling-rabid sports fans. This city is limited to only a few nasty rivalries ( Football and Hockey games mainly ) The Phillies just have a great team that needs to stay on their game and keep doing what they have done the past two weeks....and I would love to see another showdown with the Yankees.
In the spirit of good sportsmanship, I do wish your Yankees success
but since I'm a Phillies fan, I hope all the Yankees players get their legs broken :)

Baseball is such a joke. The way it is currently structured, almost all the teams are nothing more than farm teams for the top few spenders. It makes me wonder why people even bother watching it when they already know what the outcome will be year after year.

|
http://www.cnbc.com/id/39540101Money doesn’t guarantee success.
Major League Baseball teams are proving it this postseason as only three of the teams among the top 10 in league payroll (Yankees, Phillies, Giants) made the playoffs.
That’s the fewest teams of the heavy spenders to make the playoffs in the last decade.
It’s also the first time since baseball added the Wildcard in 1995 that at least four playoff teams came from the bottom half of payrolls (Braves, Reds, Rays, Rangers).

I'll start off by saying I'm sure you could say the same for a lot of other ballparks but I just wanted to say this. In 2005 I went to the USC/Arizona State game (USC win since been vacated :D) and throughout the game they kept showing the Yankees/Angels score on the scoreboard and had quite a few people react cheerfully whenever the score came up and showed the Yankees ahead and when they won (I believe they lost the series that year). I was thinking to myself, "Why are they rooting for the Yankees? I thought they were Devil's fans!" :grr:
