Can someone help settle this debate with my wife. Granted this is |
|
almost 30 years ago... But around 1980s when it was the original Cleveland Browns she remembers DJs and a lot of people talking about how the Head Coach fired the quarterback for changing the play. When the quarterback went out onto the field he read the Defense change the play and his change got them the touchdown and (she thinks) the win. She almost positive it was Bernie Kosher (QB) I told her no.
Now keep in mind my wife is a Steelers fan. Long time. She understand the game and everything. So this isn't some passing memory of someone not interested in the game.
Does anyone remember that happening in the late 80s?

Kosar was the QB in the late 80's-early 90's and clashed with Bill Belichik. Belichik cut Bernie for what he said was diminishing skills.
You really don't fire a player in the NFL.

2. Sorry that was how my wife termed it. That is how she remembered some DJs talking about it. |

4. Belichick was nearly crucified by Browns fans, but I thought it was the right move |
